ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of vegetation control for our client, Transpower and others when needed. This will involve tree control using tree felling and assorted machinery, scrub clearing around structure bases, and access tracks. Spraying of vegetation when required.

As a trainee Arborist, you will be working with a qualified arborist where you get the opportunity to earn while you learn! This apprenticeship will be a mixture of on the ground / on the job learning as well as attending courses which will all fully be sponsored by Ventia.

ABOUT YOU

• A willing attitude and a strong sense of reliability
• Knowledge of horticulture and gardening experience is advantageous
• Will need to be prepared to climb and use ropes
• Experience working at height, such as window cleaning is beneficial
• Valid restricted driver’s license
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• A passion for the industry and an eagerness to make a positive impact
• Based in Islington, Christchurch
• Will have the commitment and drive to learn and progress to be Qualified
