Introducing A New Director at Working Parents Connect

This week marks an exciting, yet bittersweet moment for myself and the Working Parents Connect team. After 9½ years in the business, I have decided to take a career break and would like to introduce you to the new owner and Director of Working Parents Connect, Annette Dixon.

Based in Sydney, Annette has an impressive HR career including operating her own HR consultancy (End2end Business Solutions) for almost 16 years where she works with a wide range of clients across various industry sectors.

Annette says she is “excited to be working with a great team and continuing to provide the services clients and candidates have come to expect.” Using her broad HR consultancy experience, Annette also plans to expand the current range of services – providing greater value and expertise to our current and future clients.

It will be very much ‘business as usual’ as Annette will continue to lead the existing WPC team (based in Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast) to deliver the recruitment, job advertising and employer branding services that we currently offer to connect more parents with flexible jobs and family-friendly employers.

In addition, Annette will be introducing: career coaching and career change workshops; return to employment preparation assistance; salary packaging services; advice on best practice staff retention policies; and HR support to complement existing teams or as an outsourced HR department.

It’s been an incredible journey over the past 9½ years – from starting at JustMums Recruitment in 2014 to acquiring the online jobs board Working Mothers Connect in 2018, and then merging the two businesses to rebrand as Working Parents Connect in October 2019.

I have been privileged to partner with so many wonderful family-friendly employers and incredibly talented candidates during this time and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for helping make Working Parents Connect what it is today. I’m extremely proud to now be handing over the reins to Australia’s only recruitment agency that specifically supports parents in the workforce, with a growing network of over 75,000 parents across Australia and New Zealand.

I would also like to sincerely thank my current team (Ashlee Thomas, Kym Burchall, Lyndall Taylor and Sharlene Roebuck) for their dedication and support over the years. All superstars in their own right and collectively a force to be reckoned with. I’m so incredibly proud of what we have achieved together! Annette is also looking to hire additional Recruitment Consultants in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and New Zealand to begin immediately – so if you are interested make sure you apply soon!

I know this next chapter for Working Parents Connect will be an exciting one and I look forward to seeing their continued success for many years to come.

As for me, I’m looking forward to taking a break and spending some quality time with my family (with a few holidays planned already).
